Thirteen

My dear friends' beautiful girl turned 13 a few weeks ago, so we headed to the trail by their house and took some photos to commemorate. I've known Melinda since she was a bun in the oven, and it's amazing to see who she is becoming. She's a light, and that shows in these photographs.

Betsy Claire, Her Big Brother, and #6

Such a joy to be able to work in Raleigh, NC, where my tiny niece lives. I love updating her photos, and this time around, her big brother Brandon and little buddy Eli got in on some of the fun too. I wish I had words for this little girl, but I'll stick to images today lest I get crazy emotional on you.

Bekah and Russ are Engaged!!! {Raleigh Wedding Photographer}

Bekah and Russ will get married next spring, and I love that I got to do their engagement session while I was in Raleigh, NC for Bekah's brother's wedding (blog coming up). These two have great rapport and are laid back and fun. We ventured to their wedding venue and then to NC State for their photos, as these are locations that matter to them and that are huge parts of their story. It was a sticky, hot afternoon, and we made the best of it. The end result is a collection of photographs that celebrate the good stuff of life and being in love. Cannot wait to photograph this wedding!

Blythe is 1!

Blythe belongs to great friends, so I loved getting to celebrate her first birthday. We did these photographs the day before her birthday, and it was a gorgeous, perfect day for photos. The girls played and picked flowers and laughed, and the color of spring so complimented the celebratory atmosphere of the session. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a precious baby girl.

Triple Threat!

I wanted to photograph these triplets since a friend started nannying for them after I joined her for a play date. They are as unique as can be but somehow fit right together, just so. Toddler multiples require a lot of patience, and their mom and dad (and aunt) showed up ready to go. I cannot help but smile going through these images. I just love them. Just a quick sneak peek to close out the week...

Coming in August: Much Anticipated Little Man

I love how photography has provided me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends. This sweet mama-to-be went to high school with me, and a coming baby gave us a reason to get together. I loved meeting her family and hanging out at the park while we discussed baby names and hopes. I cannot wait to see who their little boy turns out to be. Expect newborn photos in August and in the meantime, enjoy this fun preview from his maternity session!

The Future is Bright

Amanda graduates in a few short weeks, so we met up to do her senior photographs. This girl's future is bright. She's planning a medical career, hungry to learn and eager to grow. We talked easily during her session, and by the end were laughing a lot. She is sure to go far. I love the variety and fun in this set of photos. Amanda, I'm so excited for you! You are a beautiful, capable, smart young lady.

First Birthday!

It was so fun to do B's first birthday photos on his actual birthday. He took a few minutes to warm up to me, but once he did, he was all smiles and sharing. He's a speedy crawler, and by the end of his session he showed off his brand new walking skills too. I love that his grandma and grandpa participated in the session. Doesn't he have the sweetest face?

So In Love With...

...a beautiful blending, Bishop arts, babies and big kids... so in love with this session. Amber is a long time friend and fellow photographer. I love this session. So much. There's a Switchfoot line (yeah, I went there), "maybe redemption has stories to tell..." That's what this session reminds me.

As Good As It Gets

These four showed up to our session eager to explore and play, and it was quickly evident that they belong together. I couldn't help but smile watching the children interact. They laughed a lot and love well. I'm excited to share this sneak peek. Sessions like this are about as good as it gets.

Life is Wonderful

I've been celebrating the lives of these little guys with my camera for the last couple of years. They recently moved into a new home, and we got to update their photos in their new space. This is a family that delights to be together, and I love the way that shines through in these images. The boys are all boy, and their parents and grandparents revel in being with them. It's the good stuff of life.

Happy Birthday, Luke! {Dallas Birth Photographer}

On Sunday, April 14, Luke made his way earthside. The miracle of new life humbled and awed everyone involved. His mama amazed me, and his dad and big brothers were so proud. It is such an honor to witness a birth, and these photographs illustrate everything about why I love doing what I do. If you are interested in having your birth photographed, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Fab Four

When I started photographing this family, three littles were running around. Those littles aren't so little any more, and Baby Claire has grown into three years of busyness and opinions and goodness. We did a photo update on account of her growing-up-so-fast status, and I love the end result. These guys make me smile. So much love to behold.

Zachary's Six-Month Session

Time flies and newborns turn into babies who need their portraits updated. Spring-time in DFW is the best time of year for photo sessions, but somehow the morning of this session was blustery and cold. It didn't matter to this sweet little man and his big sister. They smiled and beamed, and I loved updating their photos.
