Family Photo Fun!

It's the end of the year, and I'm wrapping up photo sessions. It was so fun to finally do this session. We had to reschedule from earlier this fall, and they picked a perfect day and showed up with enthusiastic kiddos who were up for anything. Just a quick sneak peek, as I need to get their gallery done so they have photos in time for Christmas...

Happy Day

Every bit of this session was full of life, and little Miss C is a giggle box of seven-year-old proportions (read: she laughs A LOT and contagiously). Every bit of this session reminded me of how I love photographing families (as they are) and why (because they're beautiful).

Six Months is the Best Age

It's when sitting is brand new and smiles are big. Mom and dad are well-loved and familiar. And this little guy reminded me of all the reasons why I love photographing babies at this age. A quick sneak peek today...

Francie and Blythe

I feel so honored when my friends ask me to photograph their kids. I have been doing photos of this crew since Francie was born. She is talkative and opinionated and sweet. And Blythe is full of wide-eyed wonder at the whole world. I love how a morning at the park translates to a few moments captured permanently. Life is sweet, and so much goodness shines through.

Coming Soon: A Baby for the G Family

It's always fun to meet a family when they're expecting a new little one, and I loved the low-key hanging out that made up this session. Little man Cohen will be an amazing big brother, and he is a go, go, go busy sort of fella. His mom and dad know how to take their boy in stride, and they sure do love him and each other. Can't wait to meet the new addition in February!

Will

Will is seven and all that seven entails. Energetic. Busy. Fast. Fun. He's quite the conversationalist and one well-loved little boy. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with him and his mom.

Little E, Super Model Extraordinaire

Little E belongs to friends who are like family, and she is feisty and opinionated and fun. When I told her I'd send her updated photos to Santa so he could see how much she'd grown this year, she said, "Santa will think I'm a super model." This girl has a sense of style. I've been doing her photos since she was a baby, and it's hard to believe she's become such a little lady. I love how much personality comes through in these photographs.

One Amazing Family

This family? I've been doing their photos since a toddling boy chased his bald baby sister. The kids know me by name; they greet me with high-fives and hugs. I love the rapport that allows for genuine joy and real love to come through the camera lens. Every session with this crew is an honor, and this amazing family makes me smile.

Super B and the Magic Photo Shoot

I don't have a lot of words for this session other than this: it felt magical. The love. The smiles. The genuineness. The beauty. It was so very real. Super B is one blessed little fella. I think that shines through here.

Where the Wild Things Are

Halloween meant triplet wild things, in costume, of course.Handmade costumes and crunchy leaves and raisins and a story book to boot were the trappings of this session. I've watched these littles grow since they were a few weeks old, and these are some of my favorite photos to date. Don't you love them?

Photographing Friends

It's an honor when friends ask me to update their family photos. We had to reschedule this session a couple of times before it actually happened, but I'm glad we made it happen. I love the way this family is grounded and focused on simplicity and on loving others well. They are inspiring and warm and some of my all-around favorite people.

Coming Soon: Little Man

I first met these two when they were engaged. And then I photographed their wedding. And then I got to photograph their gender reveal session. And these photos are from their maternity session. They are going to be amazing parents to their little man, and I cannot wait to do his photos too. So much love shared here.

Beautiful Light, Beautiful Family

I loved the light in this session. It complimented the beautiful smiles and loving warmth that these photographs display. More than the light, I love the way this family interacts. They're an incredible crew, and it's always a pleasure to take their photos.

Happy Baby Girl

Little lady L has to be one of the happiest babies I've ever met. She smiled and laughed lots during her session. Six months is one of my favorite ages for photos, and it has everything to do with the wide-eyed wonder little ones display at this age. The whole world is amazing, and six-month-olds seem to get that. You can see that in her eyes.

Zeke and Zak: The Senior Session

My brothers, twins, are graduating. Rather than reminisce about the last 18 years, I thought I'd let their senior images tell the story of who they've become. They're smarties. Zeke wants to study viola, and Zak plans to study physics. In the meantime, they're getting ready to graduate. Their senior session cracked me up. I'll not soon forget it.

Landry's Four Month Session

It's amazing to me to watch a newborn turn into a smiley baby. Landry has done just that, and she was all smiles for her parents throughout her session. That's evidence of a wee girl who is loved well. She wasn't such a fan of her Halloween costume, but she still gave a few smiles in spite of herself. I'm so excited to watch this little miss grow up.

Doubly Darling

Two-year-old twin girls are busy, independent, fun. They are learning to talk and wanting to go! and do! and be! and finding their feet in life. Neither little miss was certain they wanted to have their photos taken. And that's okay, because the end result was genuine expressions and real life. I'm glad I get to keep on telling the story of these little girls.
